WHO IS THIS "BOB CARTER" ANYWAY?
BC was allegedly born to parents in 1961. He has since been borne, more or less cheerfully, by friends and the public-at-large. He died and went to Radio in 1984at a small station in Port Angeles, WA. (KONP, which stands for "Olympic National Park" or "Koin-Operated" radio, depending on whom you ask) In 1986 BC realized the error of his ways and moved to Bellingham, WAthe land of milk and his honey, Karen. There he has served in various positions (some, deemed by the Kinsey Institute to be physically impossible) at KPUG, KGMI, KAFE and KBAI radio. Eventually, only KISM would have him. He struggles to make a good impression between seven-and-midnight weekdays; and ten a.m.-to-two p.m. Saturdays. (The rest of the week he doesn't even try) He's also your host for the Midnight Snack, every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at midnight.
You've heard of Aquarius, rising? He's Cancer, spreading. Being a Cancer Bob's a family man, and likes nothing more than spending time with his wife and two girlsJessie and Libby. (Jessie and Libby are overstuffed beagles) He wants someday "to become a real boy"; and his favorite quote is, "Life is one long process of getting tired." (Samuel Butler) He describes himself as "my favorite character in American fiction".
BC was not dropped on his head when he was born, so he has no excuse.
His heroes are his father; writers Charles Beaumont, Fredric Brown, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Philip Jose Farmer, Charles Fritch, Richard Matheson and Clifford D. Simak; D.J.'s Dr. Demento and "The Greaseman"; comedians Stan Freberg, Spike Jones, Ernie Kovacs and Tom Lehrer.
His favorite type of music is "all of the above."
WHAT FRIENDS SAY ABOUT HIM:
"He has a nice rhythm, but is hard to dance to."
"He makes me laugh! (but looks aren't everything)"
"He has the ability to take a mundane topic...and make it banal."
"He's an enigma surrounded by a mystery."
BC'S PROUDEST MOMENT:"I would have taken first place in the pie-eating contest at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden...but the cow stepped on my neck!!" (Dana Lyons, are you listening?)
